Medina County Fair-Fine Art Division

Each year the Hondo Art League is in charge of the Fine Art Division and Children's School Art.

Fine Art Division:You do not have to be a member of the Art League to enter. Exhibitors must be at least 18 year of age to enter (younger exhibitors may enter the School Arts Division). Exhibitors may exhibit works of art in any of the following categories, and are limited to a total of 3 works of art: Oils, Watercolor, Acrylics, Dry Media (charcoal, pencil, graphite, pastels, pen and ink, prismapencil) Mixed Media (collage, etc.), and Printmaking (lithograph, dry point etching, hanging mosaics, wood block, etc.). Entries must be the original work of the artist and completed since January 1, 2016. Entries must not have been entered previously in the Medina County Fair. due to space limitations, works of art must be a Maximum of 9 square feet, including the frame. Entries must be suitably framed and ready for hanging (wire hangers are preferred). Entries must be stable; paint must be dry. Entries may be disallowed at the discretion of the Art league. Every effort is made to secure the exhibits, but the Hondo Art League is not responsible for any loss or damage to articles while on the grounds.

School Art Division may be entered through your school art teacher or individually brought up on Friday, September 18, 2020 to the Fair Exhibit Hall before 11:00 am. This may be a class project or a special creation away from school. the School Art Division will be divided into 3 categories: Elementary, Middle School and High School. Media accepted: Paintings (acrylic, watercolor, tempera and oil), Drawings (pencil, pen and ink, colored pencil, chalk pastel, marker, crayon, oil pastel) and Mixed Media ( a combination of the above media).

The fold over entry form should be placed behind the lower right corner of the entry. It will be folded behind the lower right corner of the entry during judging and then moved to the front for displaying during the Fair. The entry tags may be obtained from the art teacher, at the Fair Hall when entering or on the Medina County Fair Website. Entry may be matted with poster board or construction paper, but not framed. Size of entry should be no larger than 11" x 17", matting included.
